ROM Crystal

I went for a members' preview tour of the new Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, at the Royal Ontario Museum last week. It's an amazing structure. I've watched the construction for the past two years, and was very excited to view it from the inside. It's designed by the reknowned architect, Daniel Libeskind and is sure to attract lots of visitors, if not a bit of controversy. It's hard to judge a museum space when it's completely empty, as it was for this preview, but without a right angle in most of the rooms, I did feel a little disoriented. I will of course reserve my judgement until I can see it when the exhibits are installed.

As in photography the interaction of light and space can fascinate the eye and the mind.

That looks really exciting. Love new architecture when it lifts above the mundane and gives us something exciting and different.
