Warning! This Picture May Contain NUDITY.

Sorry for the shocking headline. I debated for almost a week about posting this shot. If anyone is offended, I am sorry...please avert your eyes. I decided, despite the content or because of the content, I really wanted to share this photo with you all. You see, I work right across the street from this corner. It is a bit of a "sketchy" neighbourhood we share with a homeless shelter down the block and numerous mental patients, addicts, x-cons & misfits living in the vicinity. I happened upon this character as I left work one night. I didn't stop to get his name.

I'm not offended, but am surprised - thought it was a statue, but see it's a real person. I wonder where his clothes went?

no problem. me too, I thought it was a statue. (the alignment of the bags, the man and the cartons create a certain effect in fact)

yes, it was a bit of a surreal moment when I was coming out of my office and there he was. Completely in his own world not even aware of the traffic or people going by. I think several people didn't even notice him as even in real life he stood there like a statue.

Statue...perhaps....I'm just glad he wasn't too happy to see you...

Lovely photo and yes slightly controversial as of course you draw attention to him. But he is a study in himself [some might argue this is to depersonalise him but photographers depersonalise any subject be they film stars or beggars].

Actually though viewing the full thing in a window I scrolled to the right and he was out of the picture and what I was left with was the cabbage box and the other rubbish panning up to the real statue. That crop is a great picture in itself.

I'm so glad you decided to post this picture. It's beautiful and tells a story. You are so lucky to have captured it.

Poor confused bloke probably. I'm not offended in any way, I'm glad you got the vital seconds to record the moment.

Today I have the Red Arrows.
