Goodbye Old House

After 21 years, our family says a fond farewell to #112...our old house. With a combination of excitement and horror, we watch as our old rickety house is demolished to make way for a brand new energy efficient model. Many of you commented on my last post wondering if demolition was necessary and couldn't it have been saved. I can only tell you, that this old house had so many problems that couldn't have been fixed simply. The foundation itself was crumbling, the workmanship on previous renovations was so shoddy, there was no point in renovating. Rest assured, the interior was completely picked appart...door knobs, stair railings, our front door, wooden trim, litterally everything including the kitchen sink has been recycled. I look forward to seeing our balcony French doors transplanted and enjoying a new life in the cottage of our dear friends. We have a lifetime of memories but now, enough sentimentality. We have so much ahead to look forward to. I will keep all you dear readers posted on new developments.

How weird is this....on my blog, I said goodbye to my car. Sorry to hear about the house troubles.

My goodness, that's some photo. I couldn't pass it by in the portal. Well I always say an end is a beginning and it certainly will be with you. Look forward to further reports on your new home. And lots of luck.
